Southworth Expands West with the Launch of The Alpine Club in Telluride

SEPTEMBER 29, 2025

Southworth is proud to announce its newest destination: The Alpine Club in Telluride, Colorado. Perched at 10,540 feet with sweeping 360-degree views of the San Juan Mountains, this first-of-its-kind private, on-mountain club sets a new standard for alpine lifestyle.

A Four-Season Mountain Retreat

Located at San Sophia Station, where downtown Telluride and Mountain Village meet via gondola, The Alpine Club is designed as a basecamp for adventure and relaxation. Members will enjoy four seasons of curated experiences that embrace Telluride’s rugged alpine spirit while showcasing Southworth’s signature approach to hospitality.

Inspired Amenities

The Alpine Club combines wellness, culinary, and adventure under one roof within its stunning 26,000-square-foot clubhouse. Highlights include:

  • A spa and wellness center with sauna, steam room, cold plunge, and stretch lab

  • World-class dining with indoor/outdoor après lounge, signature bar, and chef’s table

  • Personalized concierge services, ski and parking valet, and a dedicated kids club

  • Private owners’ lockers and changing rooms

  • A state-of-the-art golf, gaming, and multi-sport simulator room with a cinema

  • An expansive great room perfect for gathering and connection

Rooted in Community

The Alpine Club was created in partnership with longtime Telluride residents Scott and Lauren Woodward. They sought a partner who shared their vision of a club built with heart. Southworth’s approach stood out: “They don’t build and sell—they invest, they listen, and they lead with soul,” said Scott Woodward.

Since its inception, The Alpine Club has engaged with the Telluride community, partnering with local organizations such as Telluride Academy and the Telluride Film Festival to enrich this remarkable town’s cultural and social fabric.

Construction & Design

Construction is slated to begin in fall 2025, with an anticipated opening during the 2026/2027 ski season. Interior design, led by Pembrooke & Ives, will blend sophisticated alpine aesthetics with Telluride’s rustic authenticity. Materials like weathered woods, patinated metals, and hand-stitched saddle leathers will create a warm, inviting atmosphere that reflects the local landscape.

A Calendar of Extraordinary Experiences

Like all Southworth clubs, The Alpine Club will offer a thoughtfully curated calendar of events. From festive holiday celebrations to early morning mountain adventures, signature après gatherings, and wellness retreats, members can look forward to experiences that make everyday moments stand out and traditions even more meaningful.

The Southworth Way in the Mountains

The Alpine Club continues Southworth’s commitment to building connected communities defined by extraordinary experiences. This expansion follows transformative investments across the Southworth portfolio, including the $350 million reimagining of The Abaco Club in The Bahamas.

With The Alpine Club, Southworth invites members to experience the soul of Telluride—where adventure, wellness, and togetherness converge at the top of the world.
