Southworth has built a reputation as a different kind of club developer and operator. When David Southworth joined forces with Paul Fireman, of Reebok International fame, more than three decades ago, they had a bold vision: create inclusive private clubs where all were welcomed equally and the quality of experience of service stood above all else. Over those many years, our business model has evolved and our leadership has transitioned to a new generation. And while we continue to evolve in a never-ending mission to deliver the extraordinary, we have never lost sight of our founding principles and passion for delivering personal service that anticipates our members’ needs and exceeds their expectations so they can leave their busy lives behind and enter a world of leisure.
We Own
Southworth clubs are not merely development projects to us. They are communities that our families and friends also call home. These are long-term investments in communities that we believe deeply in. We don’t build and run. We’ve put down roots in these communities, and as such, we go to great lengths to do things right–and to treat people right. We care genuinely about our communities and everyone that is a part of them. This is the hallmark of every Southworth-owned and operated community. It allows us to deliver on what we’ve promised and instill confidence in our members and residents that we are here to stay.

We are obsessively intentional about creating fulfilling private club communities. Our development philosophy is simple. We identify extraordinary sites and then create warm, family-friendly communities featuring a variety of resort-style amenities and lifestyle offerings. By being thoughtful in this approach, we can exceed the expectations of our members and residents in every way–and provide memorable experiences that they will treasure for a lifetime.

Because of our close connection with our private communities, we know what matters most to our members. Through frequent surveys and personal conversations, targeted recruiting to hire expert talent, a consistent focus on service training, we can deliver greater value and provide richer experiences. As times and tastes change, we have the operational capability to change along with them.
